Wow...long time no write!

I just noticed that it has been quite some time since I have written in my blog...like a really long time!!!

Lately, I have been so busy because I was in Roller Derby and I practice 3 times a week. I have began to fall behind a bit in school so I am on a short break until November for that.

Meanwhile, school is good. Cindy is up in Lander and Kendall is down in Kansas City making money for the family. It is hard to believe that they are going to be officially up in Lander soon. I guess there will be a lot of visits up there!

On the guy front...I laugh. Lots of dates- not many second dates because I get bored on the first date. I, sadly, don't really care that much either! I have been having a great time just being happy with myself and doing whatever I want, when I want. It makes me laugh a lot when I see people out there in this world just letting themselves be taken advantage and when they are apparently scared of being alone. I find it especially hilarious when these people are younger then me. I have moved on from feeling sorry for them because well come on! I mean if you are going to keep putting yourself in a situation you are not happy with- Don't complain to me!

Any who! I leave for Knoxville on Friday morning for the Knoxville Brewfest and to visit the brother and his fiance- Lauren! I am super excited to go to Knoxville! I have yet to see Adam's house even though he has lived in his house for a couple of years now. Lauren and Adam are going to be getting married in New Jersey on June 25 and I am super excited. It will be my first time in New Jersey ever! And the wedding I know is going to be beautiful and a lot of fun!

Okay...I am battling a horrible cold so I am going back to bed...I promise to post more!!!

Wow- you are how old? and you are what? Excuse me!?

Lately I have begun to wonder and before I get too in depth I would like people to know that before they get insulted...its not my intentions and just read on...trust me.

This realization that I will soon divulge that is long and very in depth, came to me tonight at cosmic bowling when a guy who is 22 came up to me and started chit chatting. He was cute, had a good smile, was interesting, and seemed like a good guy until one of his friends (who i know from league bowling) mentioned he was married, had two kids (7 and 1) and was trying his normal pick up lines with me (because he-the married father- was use to girls being idiots playing into his game). I naturally said something to him but that is not what this blog is about.

I began to wonder tonight when I was dropping people off at their respective homes, why is it that people in certain areas get married so young? Is this because I was raised in a city and they were raised in the "country"?

Exhibit A: Gary and Nikki: Madly in love. High School Sweethearts. Two people that are so very right for each other and found each other so long ago (relatively "long ago" we are young so hey its relative!). Raising a handsome HANDSOME young man. And an exhibit of two people I feel will always, no matter what, have each others back.

Exhibit B: Karl and Amber: Two people who I was definitely protective of both of them when they started dating, but went through thick and thin, got strong, and had a look in their eyes that was something I am glad to witness from day one. Also, raising a handsome smart young man that looks more and more like his father everyday and is nothing short of amazing.

Exhibit C: Last but certainly NOT least: Cindy and Kendall: two people that I am happy everyday to call my framily and think about their family constantly. These two had a spark from day one that was nothing short of amazing. As soon as Cindy and I took our adventure across the States the day after we met each other, I knew we would be life long friends that NO MATTER WHAT would never go away. The love they had was an instant lock of eyes and passionate arguing about little things but still never hurtful and would never NOT end with amazing kisses between them. Two people who are now engaged but have to amazing almost 4 years olds that I am proud to be in their lives as Aunti Em.

Back to my point. These three great couples-so in love and happy (all with boys by the way-odd...how is there only one girl :)) fell in love at such a young age.

Now granted, I was engaged and much in love, but felt like it wasn't right. Is this because of how I was raised? because of the city? or because i felt like I was missing out?

I do not know the answers to any of these questions. I just know that if I was in my 30s like Jesse Taylor or Jim Osborne who found their one true loves I wouldn't mind.

OR if I was like Jesse Brown or Fritz Mercer who lived the dream, didn't have a care in the world, and plain and simple knew who they were and loved every second life had to offer them- I wouldn't be missing out.

HOWEVER, when I see a married man with children hitting on a single kinda older woman- I thank my lucky stars I was never in this position and quite frankly if I was his wife, knew his behavior, that kid would be sleeping on a park bench for years before I talked to him agaiin!!

All and all- its okay to be like Gary and Nikki, Amber and Karl, Cindy and Kendall, Jesse and Jim, or Jesse, or Fritz, it doesn't matter because all of these people are being true to themselves, following their hearts, living their dreams, and are just plain and simple being happy!!!

That is the true meaning of life-

Marley- and no i don't wanna talk about it

"Said said
Said I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown
Oba, ob-serving the hypocrites
As they would mingle with the good people we meet
Good friends we have had, oh good friends we've lost along the way
In this bright future you can't forget your past
So dry your tears I say

No woman, no cry
No woman, no cry
Oh my Little sister, don't she'd no tears
No woman, no cry

Said, said, said I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown
And then Georgie would make the fire light
Log wood burnin' through the night
Then we would cook corn meal porridge
Of which I'll share with you

My feet is my only carriage
So I've got to push on through
But while I'm gone...

Wow- long time no post...

Well, it has been quite a long time since I have posted so it is about time that I do a quick update.

I am about to finish my third week back in school. It is a little rough getting back into the swing of things, but I am certainly enjoying myself. It is very interesting being one of the oldest people in all of my classes - especially when the other students find out that I am getting my masters degree and another bachelors...I think they may be a little bit intimidated. Tomorrow, is my first test in my Geography class which shouldn't be that bad. I truly believe that I am well prepared for it! Hopefully it will turn out the way I plan and I will be spending another semester on the dean's list!

The past couple of weekends I have spent in Green River hanging out with Fritz and playing poker. Last weekend I was only there for Saturday but it was certainly a good time. I conned Fritz and his roomie into grilling some steaks that I brought up. They were delicious!!! It has been a long time since I had a great steak and I was stuffed the rest of the night.

I do have to mention that it has been a little bit lonely in Laramie these past couple of weeks. Mel is up in Casper doing her student teaching but I am lucky that I still see her a fair amount of time because she catches rides down from Casper. This weekend she will be coming into town on Friday and then I will be taking her back up to Casper on Sunday. We plan on going to see a local band play in Centennial: Patti Fiasco!! Awesome band and it has been a while since we have all seen them play. Hopefully we can talk Mischkey to come too.

Even though it has been a bit lonely I have had a lot of time to get to know Powers a lot better and we have been watching Weeds on a weekly basis at her house. Also, I have been having a great time hanging out with Sean. Speaking of which, our bowling team is doing really well this part of the bowling season. We have two new people: Angie and Ryan Taylor.

hmmm... I guess nothing else new in my neck of the woods... hopefully I will have some pictures to post soon. AND hopefully there will be more interesting things to post...

muah!

I've been Gilmored...please don't do it again!

So this past week I took Batman and Sage to Omaha with me - due to an unforeseen emergency the Hayfords were dealing with. Thank goodness Aidan is out of the hospital now and is looking better- from what I can tell in the pictures! YAY!!

Omaha was a great time away from Laramie and i really needed it because i had to get some doctor's visits done and pick up more of my stuff from my parents house. I naturally went over to my Grandparents house for dinner...oddly enough my grandma was talking up a storm about one of my cousins friend...then as I am loading my truck up i receive a text message from my Aunt Mindy saying: "We are sitting at a bar with some really handsome nice college guys."

Really people...Really? While i understand and appreciate the fact that my family wants me to be happy I insist that they please do not continue to hook me up with guys. I have no problem whatsoever finding men in Laramie...thank you but no thank you!

ugh...

No much else new here in my world except i am starting school tomorrow!!! whoot whoot!

A weekend well spent-

It is about time that I finally write about the amazing weekend I had-especially since I am coming up on another weekend. I have been slacking.

To begin, Friday was an amazing night at bowling. My first game I bowled my regular average, right around the 70s. My second game...I GOT A TURKEY!!! For those of you who do not know what a turkey is-it is three strikes in a row! My score for the second game was 144. Naturally, my third game was right around my average again. Tomorrow is our tournament positioning round, meaning we may not be in last place anymore! :-)

After bowling Fritz finally made it into town and we hung out a little bit before it was obvious that I had enough. That wild turkey shot I had to take for my turkey in bowling really caught up with me. No I did not get sick just very buzzed!! It is whiskey! I just can't drink the stuff!!

Saturday, after Fritz and I rolled out of bed at around 11 or so we headed out for lunch at the Library and had a couple of beers. It was a good time just sitting and chatting each other up. It is nice to finally enjoy a man's company again, getting butterflies when he touches me, and just loving his smile and his eyes. I was very impressed when I went to pay for lunch that he basically demanded to put my credit card away. It was the tone of voice that told me that he was the man that likes to give and take. A MAJOR BLESSING! I've never been use to a man that stood his ground and I found it incredibly attractive. Of course, I have realized over the past single months (almost a year) that I need and want a strong man that isn't going to be afraid to stand his ground!

After we returned home to my house and taking a nap... because I was exhausted! He went to Jesse Brown's house (my friend and his friend that introduced us) to shower, while I did the same. He picked me up at roughly 7:30 after requesting that I wear a cleavage shirt- which I gladly did :-) (hey now you all know my nickname- I'm not scared!). We were heading to dinner when he mentioned that Jesse was trying to convince him to take me up to Lander. I, being spontaneous, said "Let's go!"

So that night we ended up in Lander, WY, hanging out with a bunch of his climbing friends. I thought this was going to be awkward and what not but it was a fantastic time!!!!!! I love being spontaneous again, really enjoying life, and just having fun!!

After this weekend, I have really been able to see how much I have really become the person I want to be. I enjoy having fun, smiling all the time, not being afraid of who I am because I am scared of the reaction a man will give me. The way I see it- if he doesn't like me for me, I plain and simple don't wanna be with him!

I really just can not explain the great time I had with Fritz this past weekend. I enjoyed the car ride to Lander and back just getting to know him. So far he seems like a total package...which those of you who are reading this probably know I rarely say that. In fact Stew-heart even said he hasn't seen me this happy with me and a dude in years!

An update on the next couple of weeks. Franzi my friend from Germany will be returning to Laramie on Saturday for a couple of weeks. I am very excited about this even though it was suppose to be Friday when I saw her but her flight got delayed in France (silly frogs!). This coming wednesday is my last day of work before returning to school in January. Thursday the 24th I will be going to Omaha with my friend Mel for Christmas and a couple of days (of course shopping for my New Years dress) and returning back to Laramie on the 27th or 28th. Then on the 29th or 30th (I can't remember) Fritz will be coming down to Laramie after his trip to Charlotte (where he is from) for New Years ( as you know my FAVORITE HOLIDAY - gold star, right?!).
Sadly, Mel will be moving to Casper for her student teaching and living with April Hicks up there, Franzi will leave to go back to Germany, Fritz will go back to Rock Springs, and I will be doing nothing, relaxing, and preparing for school.

Well I know i keep saying this but i promise to post pictures...Cindy loohoo you have to see this boy! :-)

Ciao!!

Yeah...im on an online dating site...

Well hello...long time no talk.

This quick little blog is just to admit...yes i am on an online dating site. Actually it is a lot of fun. I have yet to really meet anyone, but i have been talking to a lot of interesting guys. I have had a lot of responses even though i have been on the site for less then one week.

The reason why i joined this online dating site, is because I have been feeling like it is time to meet some more people. While it is easy to meet people (for me), I find myself meeting the same kind of people. So i have decided to reach out. Here are some of the ways that i am planning on reaching out:

1. I will be returning to Church this Sunday after quite some time - for reasons that do not need to be discussed.
2. Instead of reading at home (the many books on my list) i will be going to coal creek coffee to read during the week.
3. of course the online dating site
4. Going to a party by myself without any friends in tow. For example, i will be going to a friends party where he will be the only one i know by myself this friday after bowling. It couldn't hurt right?!
5 Finally, when i return to school i will not just return home right after class or between classes but will hang out in the library or in the union. I also plan to chat it up with some of my classmates after class. Hey who knows maybe i will even go to the gym? (that might be pushing it though- i like my workout tapes they are so much fun!)

Well that is my new thought on how i am going to try more things...
check ya later...

ps i will post a picture of my ugly sweater that i will be wearing this friday for the tacky sweater party...its actually pretty rockin! :)

Bowling League!

So last week I decided to get a group of friends together to start a bowling league. Well...IT WAS AWESOME!!! It was sooo much fun. Sean, Justin, Melissa, and I had the best time ever!! We really enjoyed ourselves even though our team isn't that great and we have a huge handicap we laughed the whole time!!! Great time I tell ya!!!

Well tomorrow is Friday which means more bowling...and on Saturday HALLOWEEN!!! :) be safe everyone... especially if you are in this snow storm that has been around for 3 days!!

Update- requested by Cindy Loo-hoo :-)

Well apparently i've been slacking on posting- but thats not unusual. So before The Hills and The City start in 27 minutes, I thought i would take the time to update my blog.

Well, since last Tuesday Emily (my roomie) has been in Belgium and Germany. She will return home this Friday evening. I am very excited for her to come home considering...she accidently took the mail key...WHOOPS! I have been waiting patiently for my Halloween costume - ELVIS!!! Great idea by the way. It has fringe, big rhinestones, sunglasses, and a CAPE!!! I am super excited.

This past weekend was quite an adventure- Mel and I hung around Friday night bouncing around from bar to bar- it was a good time but on saturday I was completely lazy- the only thing i did was meet up with a guy - which was a total DUD...oh well.

However, on Sunday when Mel and I went for our mid afternoon beer to watch the football games at the Library - i met a nice fella from Germany. Very cute, intelligent, funny, and well he spoke German pretty well...so we will see if we hang out in the future.

Surprisingly enough - i am beginning to see more and more dates roll around my direction which is really nice - but i am super busy and those boys think they can just call me the night before...Really guys REALLY? Call at least the day before I mean give a girl a break - you think I'm just sitting around waiting for you to call. NOOOOO!! I have friends hello and boys that follow rules calling me (even though the boys calling in advance are a no go for me )

Anyways...something exciting I have yet to post online is.....DRUM ROLL PLEASE!! I got another Tattoo to begin my new fun life and being me again - the tattoo is to new beginnings.

Well gotta jet - chinese food!

Pictures to follow :-)

Realizations from saying goodbye to Mazy The Mazda

Today I said goodbye to Mazy (my Mazda). It was actually a really hard time for me. As I was cleaning out all of the different compartments of my car, i began to realize that tears were rolling down my cheeks. Its hard to believe that such a faithful car that traveled the U.S. with me and how she never disappointed me when I just had to get out of time or even offered a place to stay for the night. I found scissors bought from a trip in some dollar store on my way to Missouri with Cindy before our trek across the nation. I discovered bachlorette playing cards from a wild adventure in Denver for Nikki. Bobby pins, cds, shoes, and tire chains that reminded me of the Donner pass and peoples obsession of glorifying that whole tragedy, memories of crazy fun times with Chris. Saying good bye to this car really made me realize that just certain memories of my life are just memories now and sadly I guess its just time to let go of it...considering those memories are just that- memories. New memories will come and go. Saying good bye is hard by letting go is harder...i guess the new chapter really has begun...I suppose Mazy hung around longer then just the college years and I'm thankful for that...hopefully those memories will hang around for longer yet remind me that with Mazy those times have flown out the window. With a new car approaching and being discovered (hopefully soon) new memories of being spontaneous, blind and unwaivering love, friends, and new risks will arise.

24th birthday and a car accident

My 24th birthday went really well this year! I had a really great time hanging out with the gal pals and just hanging out at the library for Patty Fiasco, who sang happy birthday to me. It was also a lot of fun going to the Naughty Pines Roller Derby. It was such a blast spending the whole weekend just having a great time.

Sadly, I was in a horrible accident this past Thursday. A sixteen year old hit me head on, when she turned left into my lane. I found out on Friday my car is officially dead and pretty much can not be repaired. Sage and I are both okay from the accident. I had a pretty bad neck and back sprain which is finally starting to feel better even though it is still painful. Hopefully i will be posting pictures soon of a new car, from the money her insurance will be paying me...hopefully i won't have to get a second job to make payments.

Secret Admirer

Lately, I have been arriving home from work or waking up early in the morning to find flowers scattered around my car, wondering up the stairs, or monkeys placed by more door.

Curiously, the flowers are either my favorite kind or my favorite color. The monkey was pink. This person obviously knows me and i just want to send a quick thank you-

Wish i could guess who you are :-)

{excuse the picture- some of the flowers are getting old- but this has been going on for weeks- who are you :-)}

Its just not my place anymore

Saturday, August 15th, was Layla and Aidan's third birthday party. Cindy and Kendall certainly went all out this year! The backyard was full of decorations, games for adults, and games for the kids. It seemed like the kids were having the time of their lives! While I had fun playing and watching the kids, the realization of people's pettiness and who my real friends really are (or were) came to me.

Although i knew the situation was going to be awkward before going to the party, I never realized how awkward it was. On top of that- it was hurtful sitting by myself for 2 hours with little interaction from people who i thought were my friends. The little interaction didn't bother me too much until I realized i was being completely ignored by some and was being whispered about.

I am glad to know that I don't have to deal with that drama anymore. It is obvious to me who i can count on and can consider my friend and the rest of them - i just don't care! Sometimes the best way to learn a lesson is the hardest way.

Before i end this rant, i would like to express that certain things in a person's life is no body's business but their own. Second, whispering about a person who is less then five feet away and asking "what is she doing here" or "I can't believe she came" is not only rude but also can be heard. Third, the people whispering should probably shut their own mouths and stop trying to create unnecessary drama. Finally, it is good to see who really is an adult, who is a child, who is a petty drama queen, people's maturity level, and the fact that I am actually glad I know who is a true friend.

I am happy to say - that its just not my place anymore - and truthfully i'm glad I was able to see people for who they really are.

My Personality Test

Personality Type Report
Your Personality Preferences
EXTROVERT
You are social and outgoing. You are most comfortable when with other people and experiencing the world first hand. Interaction with others and first hand experiences energize you. It is not unlike you to start conversations with strangers. You have a preference for the outer world: people, activities, and things. Other people provide you with a mirror, sounding board to help you develop ideas and plans. Being alone may sap your energies. Your concept of the world is derived from experiencing it firsthand and then drawing conclusions.
SENSORY
You usually gather information with your senses: what you can see, hear, taste, touch and smell in the physical world. The facts gathered from the sensory data you process are the building blocks of your model of our world. You concentrate your energies on what actually exists and do not ponder what might exist too much. You are usually practical and rely on your common sense to guide you through the world. You see things as they are and have little or no need to search for underlying meanings.
JUDGING
You like decisions to be made as soon as possible. You are not comfortable with loose ends and like to see conflicts resolved as soon as possible. You have a preference for a well-structured, orderly lifestyle with few surprises. It may not be all that important who makes the decisions that gets things done as long things do get done. You take commitments very seriously. While you are not inflexible, you do like to stick to a plan once it is set into motion.
FEELING
You make decisions subjectively based upon your values and what is important to you. How people will be affected by your decisions is important to you. You are likely to make decisions based upon what you feel is acceptable and agreeable rather than what is logical. Your truths are founded in your values and those of the society you live in. It is important to remember that we are discussing how you evaluate data and make decisions, and that you rely on your feelings to do so in no way implies you are overly emotional.

I'm So slacking on posting

So i have been really horrible on posting lately and I will totally try to do better. Here is the update from the last month:

Last weekend I attended a wedding for an old friend in Omaha. The weekend was amazing I am so happy with the person i have become and the decisions i have made. The part of Karma of course was even more amazing to me then anything else. Going back and seeing people that i thought i would never see again was great- even though i didnt talk to them much. I have absolutely nothing in common with most of the people it was nuts to me to realize how much i have changed as a person in a positive way and how many people have not changed. I noticed that people "have what they want" and its funny to me to see that they have know idea that they will be unhappy and disappointed with life. KARMA!!!!!!
